I made the mistake of turning my netbook off during updates. (I didn’t want the updates) Now it keeps rebooting over and over. Can’t get past the Windows XP home screen. Can’t load into safe mode. Tries to and reboots again from the Windows XP home screen. So, I can’t even network my computer with my laptop to use it as an optical drive because i can’t get the netbook to boot up.

There’s a still-going issue about whether to use OEM cartridges or compatible printer ink cartridges. The cartridges that usually come with and share the same brand as your printer. They are costly. What manufacturers say is essentially this - OEM cartridges bring you quality printing performance at no risk to your printer. Compatible ink cartridges are refilled or unbranded ones, and cost significantly less than their OEM counterparts. Which of these is better to use? Will you be better off using OEM or compatible cartridges? One study shows that compatible printer ink cartridges can print more pages compared to their branded counterparts, and at much less the branded cartridge’s cost.

If you can do without the 802.11N wireless, and Windows 7, the Asus Eee PC 1001P may be the right netbook for you. Launched as the little brother to the recently launched Eee PC 1005PE, the 1001P shares the same 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processors, 1GB of RAM, and“Seashell” style case design. Brad, over at Liliputing took a quick look at this new Asus netbook today, and seems genearally impressed with it. He notes that it has a matte (non-glossy) display, as well case lid and palm rest. (no fingerprints!) The best feature, however, may be the price. Amazon UK currently has it listed for a bargain price of just £229.00 with free shipping. Check out the unboxing video after the break.

I’m thinking about getting an Android netbook, or maybe a tablet when they are released (The iPad is too restricted and too expensive). What software will I need to watch movies on it, does Android have a built in player and if not how much does it cost to buy one?
Oh, and what would I need to encode the movies on my PC?

An Epson printer, along with Epson compatible ink cartridges, can give you the printing performance and output you need. The convenience of inkjet printers is that they are quite affordable. After we buy them, we often fail to devote time to study how to solve some common printer problems, such as fuzzy printing and lines on the page. One other common problem is that non-regular use of your printer results in the ink cartridge’s congealing, drying up, and clogging the nozzles. Cleaning can help. Replacing the print head is another option. By the far the effective preventive solution, which can also count as routine maintenance, is to use your printer regularly. By using your printer regularly you can probably spot the symptoms of problems before the happen.

The first commercial for Apple’s upcoming iPad aired last night in the States during the Oscars. It’s pretty much what most are expecting – a larger iPod touch, but the comericial brings up an interesting question. How do you hold this thing? Sure, you can prop it up on a table, but what about when there isn’t a surface to place it on in front of you? Almost every shot of a person actually using the iPad shows legs contorted into unusual positions. Check out the video after the break.

I recently got this netbook and installed windows 7 in it (and I haven’t made any kind of modifications, it’s the specs that are on the box). But it’s kind of laggy even with just flash games and youtube. Is there a way to fix this? Should I upgrade the video card (if it’s even possible) or the ram?
Really appreciate any help and input. Thank you!

Pixel Qi founder Mary Lou Jepsen says that you’ll be able to pick your very own Pixel Qi Screen by this summer, in the form of a DIY Kit. What makes the Pixel Qi screen special is that it combines the benefits of the low power, high contract e-ink dispalys found in many ebook readers, and the full colour displays currently in netbooks. The Pixel Qi display’s power consumption is said to range from just .5 watts, without backlight, to 2.5 watts with the backglight on. Pixel Qi’s assures us that their LCD displays combine some of the best elements of a fully saturated color display, with incredible power consumption numbers. As an added bonus, there will be a ePaper mode that makes reading the screen possible in direct sunlight. Pixel Qi’s LCD displays combine some of the best elements of a fully saturated color display and a high contrast e-Ink screen. In a nutshell, you can treat the screen as a slightly thicker, more expensive color LCD and never take advantage of the ePaper mode. But you can also turn off the backlight to reduce the screen’s power consumption from 2.5 watts to about 0.5 watts. There’s no word on pricing yet. Jepsen says the company will make an announcement prior to the release of the DIY kits. You can check out the Pixel Qi screen in action after the break.

I need a little suggestion regarding what would be the best antivirus to use on my Acer Aspire One netbook. (260 GB HD, 1 GB RAM). The McAfee Antivirus that was provided with it is not a very good software, I must say. So I need a better alternative. If anyone is using Acer Aspire one netbook, please do leave some suggestions for me.
