I just want the basic differences between a notebook and a netbook. Can netbooks download software? What are the limitations? How about word processing?

I've heard about netbooks before, and my cousins were playing with what looked like a tiny laptop. I asked my uncle what it was and he said a Netbook, then left. Thanks a lot uncle… any hoot, help please!

Samsung N510 - with Nvidia Ion Samsung will start selling the N510 netbook in July powered by the Intel Atom N280 processor, and more importantly, the Nvidia Ion graphics chipset which means it comes with the powerful Nvidia 9400m graphics chip, as seen on the current Apple Macbook notebooks.  In supporting roles, we’ll see a 11.6-inch WXGA display and the more standard netbook fare of 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3-in-1 card reader, and a 6-cell battery. A few more pictures after the break, and more news as soon as we get it.  This could potentially rival the success of the popular NC10 netbook from Samsung. Share and Enjoy:

I just bought an acer netbook with windows xp on it, and i know its a bit old, but my favorite game to play on my old laptop that i sold was Halo. I bought the game in Wal-Mart, and I have a CD key, but my new netbook sadly has no CD drive. Since I already own the game, is there a legal safe way to download the game for free?
You misunderstood me. I sold my laptop. I still have the game.

I need to install a programme on my netbook, which doesn't have a disc drive built in. (I don't have time to buy an external disc drive). Is it possible to install software by putting the disc into another computer, copying it to my external hard drive, then copying the programme from the hard drive onto the netbook?

Sony launches VAIO Signature Collection, $2,000 VAIO P

June 26, 2009

Been getting the feeling that your laptop was missing that certain something, that little detail, the perfect touch… crocodile skin, perhaps? Well check yourself, homeboys and homegirls — Sony has just launched a line dubbed the “Signature Collection” which should suit all of your fashion / money havin’ needs. Besides offering a handful of its laptops like the CS390 in new skins (the aforementioned fake animal flesh in multiple colors, “kaleidoscope,” and all kinds of high gloss varieties), Sony is also introducing a snappier version of the VAIO P (the P699E/Q) — a glitzy black iteration that will only be available to 1,000 customers. Sure, you’ll have to shell out a totally barbaric $1,999 to get one, but it’ll come equipped with a 1.86GHz CPU and a freaking radical 256GB SSD. A glorified netbook is worth $2k in our awesome economy, right? Ponder that and other philosophical conundrums as you peruse the new selections located in the vicinity of an area adjacent to the location of that read link.
