Yes, that’s the one and only MJ to open the podcast — this one was recorded just shortly after the Engadget crew had learned the news. Join Josh, Paul, Nilay and special guest Chris Ziegler as they deny the Nokia N97, get angry at the HTC Hero, bargain with Windows 7, depress themselves over the fate of the netbook, and finally learn to accept the Zune HD’s Tegra processor. We won’t lie — Engadget Podcast 152 was a struggle, but in the end we all learned a little something about life, love, and forgiveness. Update: Any further tasteless MJ jokes will be met with a swift ban. Be nice! Make no mistake, ASUS knows it’s onto something with the sleek new Eee PC seashell form factor. We’ve seen the 1101HA and its 3G-equipped fraternal twin 1101HGO before, and now Trusted Reviews has managed one more glimpse before the netbook goes on sale in Europe later this month . The biggest selling point for this over the other seashell models like 1008HA or 1005HA is gonna be the 11.6-inch screen, but beyond that, it looks like you’re getting slightly gimped right shift key, but on the bright side, there’s also a removable battery. As the site notes, this particular model happened to have the ASUS logo displayed on the back of the lid, which is in stark contrast to the typical Eee branding we see in its place. Still no word on an US release, but we’re holding out hope it’ll follow suit pretty quickly after the overseas launch. The eagerly awaited Eee Keyboard The last we heared, the Asus Eee keyboard was going to hit the shelves by the end of June, but here we are and no sign. Asus has fessed up and announced that we won’t be seeing this groudbreaking gadget until August. So, in the meantime, your pc in a keyboard fantasies will have to continue in your mind. We also don’t know yet if it’s the XP or Moblin-based version that just cropped up earlier this month (or both), that we’ll see in August. Asus? Share and Enjoy:

The bottom half of the Touchbook The Touch Book, from Always Innovating , is now rolling off manufacturing lines on track for shipments starting next month. The price? $299 USD gets you the tablet itself and the clip-on keyboard comes in at $99 USD extra. No word on UK pricing or availability yet. For your hard earned moolah, you get a 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen, a USB 802.11 b/g/n adapter, Bluetooth, a TI OMAP3530 processor, and 512MB of memory split evenly between RAM and NAND, and 8GB of storage on an SD card. It won’t set any performance records, but running Linux should be reasonably quick. More pics after the break -including the top half! Asus Eee PC 1101HA Quick Guide Specifications: Avg. price is £340, 11.6 inch screen, Intel Atom 1GB RAM , 160GB storage, 1.4kg weight, 11 hour battery Editor Rating Best Price £??? COMING SOON Asus Eee PC 1101HA Review The Asus 1101HA netbook really is a beauty. It is part of the Asus Seashell range, which includes the Asus 1008HA . To be completely honest not too much is known about the Asus 1101HA at the moment and we can only go on various reports, themselves based on a very scattered and incomplete Asus press release ( netbookchoice ). However as this is all we have to go on, a little info is better than none at all me thinks. Basic specs include an 11.6 inch screen, 1GB RAM, 160GB storage, all powered by an Intel Atom processor. It is wireless, offers bluetooth, a multi-touch touchpad and a 1.3 mega pixel webcam. Pricing will be around £340, which aint cheap, but the Asus 1101HA does have three things going for it that might justify the price. 1 – Being part of the Seashell range, it looks stunning 2 – The 11.6 inch screen 3 – It apparently has an 11 hour battery, which would be the best battery we have come across. HP Mini 5101 Quick Guide Specifications: Avg. price is £300, 10.1 inch screen, Intel Atom 2GB RAM , Various GB storage, 1.2kg weight, 6.5 hour battery Editor Rating Best Price £??? COMING SOON HP Mini 5101 Review The latest netbook from Hp is called the HP Mini 5101, and it is getting impressive reviews from a range of sources including liliputing and gizmodo . The HP 5101 is powered by the standard Intel Atom, has a 10.1 inch screen and has 2GB RAM. However this is where it ends in terms of standard features. Storage options are numerous and you can choose to have either 80GB or 128GB SSD (solid state drive) Or 160GB, 250GB or a massive 320GB HDD (hard drive). You will also be able to pick one up with Windows XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Business, Vista Home Business or Linux (Wow, thats basically everything). The lid is made from brushed aluminium, which looks great, and HP have used a chiclet keyboard, like the one on the awesome Toshiba NB205 . The keyboard (which is spill resistant) is also 95% size, which is so close to full size that typing speed will not be affected. The touchpad is a good size, with two mouse buttons beneath it, just like we like it. Although almost every other netbook has a 0.3 mega pixel webcam, HP have given us a 2.0 mega pixel webcam, which is also a big plus. An accelerometer is included which turns off the hard drive if the HP 5101 falls to prevent damage..very clever. You will be able to choose between a 4 cell or 6 cell battery, with the battery time being 4.5hrs and 8hrs respectively. If you do choose the 6 cell battery remember that this will add some additional weight to the HP Mini 5101, as well as stick out a little from the back. Of course there is wifi, and 3G HSDPA is optional (for a price). A point made by Brad at liliputing was that is is super easy to replace the RAM, by just popping it out from behing the battery (no screw driver required). Overall the HP Mini 5101 seems to have the most options and choices we have ever seen on a netbook, for a price. This goes to show that HP are aware that we each have our own specific needs of our netbook and 9if our pocket can handle it) the 5101 HP can match them. A good solid netbook, albeit pricey. I have a ASUS netbook. I have looked in computer shops but they want around £70 for a car charger.
Surely there is a cheaper adaptor around?
Any suggestions?
I have tried my Tom Tom adaptor car charger, seemed to fit in the netbooks main connection okay, but wouldn't charge!
