Intel has released the official technical specifications for their new Pinetrail mobile processors – the netbook N450 and nettop  D410 and D510 desktop processors. No surprises, but good to see the info from Intel directly. The Atom N450 is now a 64-bit chip (unlike the current N270/N280), which means you can run the 64-bit version of Windows 7 .  The nettop processors were, and are still 64 bit capable. Chip package size is the same as the current lineup, despite adding memory capability and an integrated grahpics core.. The integrated GMA 3150 graphics core does not support hardware video acceleration (mpeg2 decoder) nor digital out (no hdmi ports) via Netbooked

[Review] MSI Wind U135 Netbook
Hi, I live in the UK and I am getting a netbook for christmas (Acer aspire one 531) This netbook comes with Windows 7 Starter. I am wondering will there be a way to upgrade it from Starter to Home Premium without having to buy a disc. If so, how much will it cost?
Thanks!
Some need massive quantities of documents printed regularly, others just the occasional report or school paper. Some are at home with inkjet printers and are used to buying inkjet cartridges. Those who choose laser printers find buying toner cartridges a necessity. HP’s LaserJet toner cartridges might be what you need if you’ve invested in laser printers. Laser printers have some advantages over inkjet printers, advantages people might want to consider. Unlike inkjet printouts, laser printouts do not smudge. Other than being able to last for 2-3 years without needing toner cartridge replacement, laser printers can also rapidly print hundreds of pages. Even though laser printers and toner cartridges are more expensive than inkjet printers and cartridges, the difference in price is only in the initial cash out. Over time, you save money on laser printers.
What are your thoughts or your netbook? What would you like it to have that it doesn’t?
I am looking to buy a netbook, but am having a hard time deciding what to get.
Netbooks aren’t really much older than 2007, and they really gained a foothold in 2008.  Although some dismiss netbooks as just a fad, the least data from a company called DisplaySearch suggests otherwise.  Netbook shipments are still growing, and according to their most recent report , netbook shipments are up 103% from last year.  Whats more, the company projects that even more netbooks will be sold in 2010 than in 2009, but the year over year growth will slow down a bit.  Translation – sales will grow, but not as quickly as they did from 2008-9. At the same time,  DigiTimes reports that Samsung is poised to ship more units than the current leader Asus.  We’re not suprised – Samsung has a killer line-up right now, with the budget N130 and N140netbooks up to the Ion-packing N510 .

Lenovo S10-3 PineTrail Netbook According to a Lenovo representative in Asia , Lenovo has two new  PineTrail netbooks on the way – to be called the S10-3 and S10-3t.  The S10-3 is definately a rework of the current S10-2, with a Pinetrail processor.  The S10-3t, however, is something new.  It’s rumoured to be a tablet style netbook, with a touchscreen that can be rotated over the keyboard for tablet use. No real news yet, but it is said that they will have full sized keyboards and run Windows 7 and that GPS and 3G mobile broadband options will be available.  Finally, jkkmobile points out , there’s a good chance we’ve already seen some photos of the upcoming IdeaPad S10-3 by way of the shot in this post via the FCC. via Liliputing
