I don’t want to use ebay, amazon, or craglists. Are there any electronic places that will buy my netbook? I know bestbuy has a trade in program, but that’s only if you’ve bought the netbook at bestbuy.

Peter at Netbooked has gotten the new Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t  convertible tablet from Lenovo.  The model he tested came with the following specs: Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t 10.1” 1024 x 600 display capacitive multi touch display Intel Atom N450 processor 1GB RAM 250GB HDD Windows 7 Home Premium 8-Cell battery 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Bluetooth APS protection, Dolby Headphone 1.54 kg / 3.4 pounds His first impressions were that the S10-3t is heavy!  At 3.4lbs this 10″ netbook is  heavier than the 12-inch Asus UL20A.  Also, on the negative side were a  keyboard and touchpad that felt cheap and flimsy.  He admits he hasn’t had much time with the machine, and hasn’t really been able to test out the capacitive touchscreen.  Hopefully that will be a hit, and there will be some more positive news later on. For now, check out the video after the break.

I recently turned this netbook into a "hackintosh," and I have most things working, except sleep/hibernation. Is there a kext I must install or something I must modify in order to get this to work? Also, I’m not sure if the restart button works, it usually takes a while and I end up holding the power button to reboot. Any fixes for that?

It’s not the thinnest, lightest, fastest netbook.  Nor does it have the longest lasting battery or the lowest price, yet the Samsung N210 is currently the best selling netbook in the UK.  A bit like the Ford Mondeo is a great all-around car, the  Samsung N210 is a fine example of a netbook with an attractive case design, above average keyboard, and a few nice features including a matte, non-glossy display and a fingerprint-resistant case for a very reasonable price. Samsung sent a demo unit to Brad at Liliputing which he promptly set out to review for us.  It came with the following features a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive. The laptop has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and a 6 cell, 48Whr battery. The Samsung N210 currently sells at Amazon UK for £289 in white or black. Check past the break for a few more photos of the review, as well as a bullet point summary. CONS: – At 2.8lbs, it’s a bit chunkier than some of the smaller netbooks. – Fairly large bezel around the screen. PROS: – Distinctive lidt features a textured pattern on a white background, which is covered by a clear plastic shell. It gives the lid a three dimensional look, at the plastic does a good job of hiding fingerprints. – Matte 10.1″ LCD display – Nice large touchpad with an attractive chiclet style keyboard The  Samsung N210 currently sells at Amazon UK for £289 in white or black.

I’ve got a webcam on my Acer netbook but I’ve got no idea how to use it. I want to record video so I can start vlogging but I don’t know how, I can’t even find the button to launch the program. Can someone tell me how they did it?

My netbook doesn’t have a disk drive but when I copied my MS office (geunine copy) to a memory stick and opened it it says the file is corrupt. Any tried ideas would be really appreciated!

We heard a few rumours recently that the Lenovo Thinkpad X100e would get dual core power , and it seems they were true.  If you live in Sweden that is (for now).  Lenovo Sweden has launched a X100e with a 1.6GHz dual core AMD Turion X2 L625 processor. The model also has 2 of RAM and a 320GB hard drive as well as an integrated HSDPA/HSUPA 3G modem.   Rounding out the specs are an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and Windows 7 Professional. Impressive specs, but they will cost you.  Dustinhome.se is charging 7,494 Swedish Kronor, or about £696 of your hard earned pounds.  for the ThinkPax X100e. via  Netbooked

The new USB 3.0 standard offers data transfer speeds up to 10 times faster than the 480Mb/s that is possible from the current USB 2.0.  Normally, new tech like this is reserved for the high end machines, costing thousands of  dollars before it trickles down, but  DigiTimes reports that Asus will be adding USB 3.0 support to the  Eee PC netbook and Eee Box nettop lines soon. USB 3.0 offers data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps, which makes it ideal storing your data on large external drives which could be a boon for those of you that use a nettop as a home theatre PC, or if you just tend to backup your netbook regularly at home. via  Register Hardware

Samsung is going colour crazy with it’s N150 model.   In total, there are six colors available now in the US.  Pictured above, and in the video below, 2 of the more adventurous – Pink and Yellow.  Spec-wise all the Samsung N150 models have the same specs: 10.1” matte 1024 x 600 display, Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and 6-cell battery (around 7 – 8 hours or so – capacity may vary in other countries) For now, we’ll have to do with just blue and white versions of the N150 here in the UK.   The N150 is currently selling for£340.29 at Amazon UK. There a video of all the colour zaniness after the break.
