I want a netbook and I told my dad that. He said that you can only go on the internet, meaning that you can’t have Microsoft Office on it. Is this true?

I want to get a netbook that is useful in a school setting. I want to mostly be able to browse the web, be light to carry in a school bag and have access to wireless most of the time. Can a net book also be used to write word document as well?

Samsung N150 – £334.09 Not only has Samsung N150 netbook s gotten more colourful, but now the popular model will also be  sporting an integrated 3g modem in the US with the carrier Verizon.   Other than the 3g modem, specs are identical to the other non 3G models. No option for integrated 3g here in the UK just yet, but pricing on the N150 has been slashed to just £334.09 for the Windows 7 model. Source: Samsung

Asusdesign.com has given a a Red Dot 2010 award to the Asus Eee PC 1218.  That’s great, but we haven’t even heard it, nor is there any evidence that it’s been launched.  The Eee PC 1218 looks to be a new 12-inch Eee PC model that’s a cross between the current 12-inch models and the S101. Ports shift to the back, build quality goes up with a one piece aluminium chassis, webcam is retractable and the device appears to be slimmer. There is no information about this new Eee PC, perhaps we’ll hear about it at Computex 2010 in June.

ASUS’ Eee PC 1015P made an appearance at CeBIT last month, and today the netbook showed up on the FCC.  The netbook sports a 10.1” screen, an Intel Atom N450 processor, chiclet-style keyboard, and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.  The 1015P also has a very impressive 14 hour battery life, provided by a 6 cell battery. We don’t have any word on pricing or a release date for the 1015P, but the FCC filing means they’ll be in the US soon, which can only mean the UK will be soon to follow. Source:  Wireless Goodness

Here are the specs:
Asus Eee PC 1000HD, MS Windows XP SP3, Intel Celeron M processor 900Mhz, 1.0GB RAM

I need some lightweight software which wont affect my netbook’s performance. Anti-virus, anti-spyware, and others.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Netbook Italia spotted an official listing over on the  French Toshiba site of a new variant on  Toshiba’s popular NB305 netbook – the NB305-10F. This new version is the first netbook we’ve seen to use Intel’s brand new Atom N455 processor supporting DDR3 RAM (1066MHz). All other specs remain identical to the current NB305 models: 10.1” 1024 x 600 display, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Windows 7 Starter. Since it’s only a minor update it won’t be much more than the current NB305.  Netbook Italia says it will cost about 350 Euros. No word yet when we’ll see it the UK, but the N450 powered Tohsiba NB305 is available for £319.95 and shipping now. Source:  Netbook Italia

In nowadays’ consumer society where everybody produces and tries to sell their products, it is obvious that there is a tremendous competition among the various manufacturers. Advertising sells well no matter the kind of activity, particularly since everyone claims to have the best products ever. Not only do producers try to push their products upfront but the market is full of consumer reviews and professional critical appreciations that create separate distinct tops and classification charts. This obviously occurs computers, laptops and their accessories too. For one interested in classifications, the Internet is the best source for information on top 10 pc laptop computers.

Personal preferences remain subjective but undeniable. Therefore, you will find different top 10 laptops classified on the basis of the various factors that people refer to when judging laptops quality. The size is an important factor to analyze since people with jobs that require travel need small, light models, even the tiny ultra portable ones like the Asus Eee PC. Other buyers closely analyze the RAM memory, responsible for data storage capacity, yet the higher the memory size, the more expensive the product. Last but not least, screen resolution also rules when it comes to deciding whether an item enters the top 10 laptops chart or not.

To provide an example of what top 10 laptops lists should be like, we suggest that you take a look at the next compilation that presents the products progressively from the first to the tenth: Apple MacBook Pro, Asus m70sa, Sony Vaio VGN-AR590E, Asus C90, Dell Inspiron 1525, Alienware m15x, Fujitsu Lifebook 8410, Lenovo ThinkPad R61, Apple MacBook Air, and Acer Ferrari 500. Such lists are compiled using the technical data posted on the official Internet pages of each and every producer.

Another chart design of top 10 laptops counts the following laptops: Acer Aspire One AOA110-1295 Notebook, Acer Aspire ONE A150-1447 Notebook, Apple 15″ MacBook Pro Notebook, Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook – Customizable, HP (Hewlett-Packard) Pavilion Dv4-1120us Notebook, Sony Vaio Ns135 Notebook, Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Notebook, Apple 13.3″ MacBook Notebook, Asus Eee PC 1000H Notebook, Acer Aspire 6930-6455 Notebook. Although the two samples of top 10 laptops resemble a lot, the slight distinction points out that this charting system is not 100% relevant given the high versatility of the computer market.
