A dead ringer for the Asus 1002ha? Shanzai reports that a Chinese company has put out a netbook that is a dead ringer for the Asus Eee PC 1002HA. But, in a rare case of where the clone may be superior to the original, this new Chinese netbook clone packs a Via Nano chipset capable of HD video playback instead of the Asus’s Intel inside. The netbook is reported to contain the VX855 chipset, which Via claims can …change our perspective on netbook performance, especially where video playback is concerned. The VX855 is similar to many IGP chipsets in that it includes hardware-based acceleration for video; meaning that the chipset can take care of the video, leaving the CPU free to go about its day. I don’t think we’ll ever see this particular netbook here in the UK, but the Via VX855 chips do sound promising. Share and Enjoy:
