Can I connect a netbook to a router?

I am planning to buy a netbook. I don’t have router in the house. All I have is a windows 98 computer and I doubt that there will be a compatible
router.
How can I connect a router to an HP mini netbook?

If the router is wireless you can connect the netbook to the router wirelessly.

If the router isn’t wireless you can connect it with an ethernet cable.

The router should work with windows 98 as long as your using an ethernet cabled connection. If you have a modern browser on it, you should be able to get into the setting okay.
