If you already have a wireless network set up, and know the security key, the netbook will be a snap to set up. The wireless connection on the netbook should be able to search for available networks and prompt you to enter the security key. Netbooks are designed to connect wirelessly, so they make it as easy as possible to use.
First you need to turn on wireless capability by using the wireless switch in front or by the side of the netbook. When the wireless is on it will automatically search for wireless networks when it finds the network you want to connect to,then you are good to go!
Notebook computers can connect to a router in many different ways. Newer notebooks are equipped with built-in wireless capabilities, which allows the user to connect to a router by using a utility that is included with the Windows operating system called the "Wireless Zero Configuration" tool. The available router connection is displayed in this utility program and allows the user to choose the router and connect to it. A notebook without built-in wireless capability can connect to a router using a USB wireless adapter. This is inserted into an available USB port on the notebook. In the Windows operating system, in the Control Panel and Network Connections, the router will be listed as an available connection. The user can choose the router and click on "Connect" to connect to it. The user can also use a wireless PCI card, which is inserted into an available PCI port on the notebook. Again, by going to Control Panel and Network Connections, the router will be displayed as an available connection. The user can choose the router from the list and click "Connect" to connect to the router.
