How can I connect my netbook to a desk top?

I want to use the netbook as a temporary monitor for the desktop. Can this be done? What kind of USB cord to I and need, and how do I get the picture to show up on the monitor? Thanks.

Computers have video outputs. Almost no computer has a video input, so you can’t use a computer – desktop, laptop or netbook – as a monitor.
