I’ve got a webcam on my Acer netbook but I’ve got no idea how to use it. I want to record video so I can start vlogging but I don’t know how, I can’t even find the button to launch the program. Can someone tell me how they did it?

I do a lot of screencasts for my educational video podcast, and the one I’ve found to be great and easy to use is Total Screen Recorder. The screen recording is rendered as .AVI / WMV / SWF / FLV.

You would need some sort of software like Debut. This will allow you to record with your cam and save the files to your computer.
If you want to use the cam to record video and I’m assuming your using Windows.
I’ve seen some really good videos made with Movie Maker.
Windows Movie Maker Download (windows XP and below)

Windows Movie Maker Live (windows vista and up)

Windows Movie Maker howto site

Once you install, Movie Maker will automatically recognize your camera.
Here is some links for YouTube specs for when you save your video.
