How do I install windows xp on a vista netbook?

I don’t have a usb flash drive, is there a way to downgrade without having to have a usb flash drive? I have adesktop computer with xp and I was also wondering if I could somehow connect the netbook and desktop together, and use the cd rom on the desktop to install xp on my netbook. How would I go about doing that?

No. You need to have something other than the main Hard Drive to boot from in order to install XP…which is why the flash drive is needed. There is a possibility that you could manage to hook up a PC CD-ROM to a laptop, but it would almost certainly require the purchase of some kind of adapter…

It would be much easier if you just went out and bought/borrowed a Flash Drive. You have to know somebody who owns one…those things are like car keys these days. ;)

You can not downgrade. End of story. If you want to install XP on a machine that has Vista, you’ll need to either make a bootable USB drive (search google for that) or attach a USB CD-ROM player with a bootable XP CD.

To install XP on your system, you will need to do a fresh install. This would mean that you need to have XP available in Flash Drive that you can connect to your system. To connect to your desktop computer, you will need some expensive accessories. Better option is to go for a USB drive.

Other option is to take out hard drive from your netbook, add it to your desktop as a slave disk, and then install XP on that. You can search on web to get details of this process.
