How To Change The Background On A Emachines 250 Series Netbook With Windows 7?

by admin on February 28, 2010

I recently purchased a new emachines netbook, and I would like to change the panel but even when I go to display on the control panel, or try to directly set a picture as my background from the internet it will not change.

Hi Gabriel,

Mercuri is correct. You cannot change your background with Windows 7 Starter. However, you can use Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade to another edition of Windows 7 that will allow you to change your desktop background and get even more features and functionality out of your OS. For more information visit: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/upgrade-to-another-edition-of-windows-7-by-using-windows-anytime-upgrade.

It’s because you’re using Windows 7 Starter, which does not have personalization options. There are some hacks to get around this, but I wouldn’t recommend it as they have mixed results. It would be better to upgrade to a better version of Windows 7.
