Try running a Malwarebytes scan. Let it remove everthing it finds. So make sure you click remove selected after scan is finished. Also after you download the free version it’s important to click the update tab and let Malwarebytes update before scanning with it.
Malwarebytes is a site dedicated to fighting malware. Malwarebytes has developed a variety of tools that can identify and remove malicious software from your computer. When your computer becomes infected, Malwarebytes can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance.

If this does not work there are a lot of malware removal forums the will help you. Google Malware removal forum.
It’s the same as with any computer. Personally, I would download Malwarebytes’ Antimalware from Malwarebytes.org. This program is free to use and can remove a LOT of infections. Once you do this, purchase and download some antivirus software to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
By the way, most Geek Squad agents will use this program to clean your system anyway!
Do a full system scan with both her anti-virus and anti-spyware apps.
Quarantine what it finds.
If you don’t have a clue as to what I am saying (or she doesn’t use A-V and A-S software), then take it to BestBuy and let their semi-professionals take care of it.
And when it gets back all nice and clean (hopefully because with BestBuy Geek Squad, its always a crap-shoot), I suggest that she takes some kind of basic computer course so she can learn how to properly protect and maintain the machine that you parents paid so dearly for.
In this day and age there is no excuse for anyones computer to become infected except for "computer illiteracy".
Good luck.
EDIT…BTW …Malewarebytes is a specialized removal tool that can detect and remove only a very few viruses….It is NOT by any means a panacea!
Assuming that anti virus and anti spy/ malware has already been installed and has failed to block or remove the infection you can run scans with one or more of the reputable free online scanner/ removers without the need to disable or remove any existing security software. Here are a few of them:

Get a good antivirus program. On the website below you have some good and free ones to choose from.
The best thing to do would be to run a full system scan with a fully functional and up to date antispyware application, this way ensuring your system is free of all parasites.
