Hi Paul,

I bought an Acer Netbook about nine months ago and take it with me on trips. At my various destinations (and along the way), I will locate a place that offers free wi-fi and check my E-mails and surf the web that way. Almost all the motels offer free wi-fi (super 8, days inn, etc.). When you get to large hotels such as those in Las Vegas, they will charge you $10 per day and up. Shhh when I’m in Vegas, I usually go to the Krispy Kreme area on the 2nd floor of Excalibur. They have free wi-fi in the immediate area but it’s a secret and not advertised.

If you want steady access at your home or other permanent place, you will probably have to sign up for some sort of Internet access plan that will give you wireless access. Some people will steal it from a neighbor’s unprotected wireless network but I don’t recommend that. Your other option is to visit your local starbucks or other provider of free wi-fi for their customers on a regular basis so you can get your E-mails and surf away. Enjoy your Acer.
