One of two leaked slides from Asus Two slides have been leaked via the EeeUser forums and show what’s in store for Asus’s netbooks. Admitteldy, these slides focus on US models, but we expect UK models to follow in roughly the same manner. In short, Asus is planning on introducing Nvidia’s Ion platform for the first time in a new 12″ netbook model called the 1201N. The new Eee PC 1201N will feature n Atom N270 CPU, 2GB RAM, a 250GB HDD, Bluetooth and 802.11n WiFi at be priced at $499 in the US in October. The 12″ netbook featuring Ion is by far the most exciting news, but there’s good progress made in hardware upgrades throughout the range. The popular Asus Eee PC 1000HE (the first netbook to really focus on battery life) will be phased out in October. Read past the break for another of the leaked slides, as well as more detailed points about Asus’s upcoming netbooks. New Eee PC 1008HA models: the P-1008HA (Atom N280 processor, 320GB HDD, 2GB RAM, BT, 802.11n Wi-FI) and the 1008HA (Atom N280 processor, 250GB HDD, 1GB RAM, BT, 802.11 n Wi-Fi) Now also with matte displays. Tablet Netboks: Eee PC T91MT (with multi-touch) 32GB SSD for $549. End of line for the 1101HA in October and for the 1008HA im November – both models will be replaced by the above variants.
