Hi,
I just got a new Asus EEE netbook. I tried to download some pictures onto it but the it will not recogize the camera when I plug the cable into the USB.
This has never happened before. On previous netbooks and computers all I had to do to download pictures is plug the cable in. Any suggestions? Someone told me I could install a driver to the netbook but I have no idea how to do that?

You will need to go to the website of the camera manufacturer and download the software and/or drivers for that product. On most sites, you’ll simply go to the downloads section, support section, etc. From there, enter the model number of your camera, which should be listed somewhere on it. From there, simply download and install.

SEARCH ON THE OFFICIAL SITE FOR THE DRIVERS
It could be a faulty USB port. If you have a second port, try plugging it to that one. If not, try the camera on another computer and make sure it is still being recognized. Another thing, if you do have some USB device plugged in, remove it and only plug the camera in, i have seen USB conflicts occur before
Google your camera and and model + drivers and you will find it if not set it to a USB storage device
Log on to the web site for your camera and then go to support/downloads and select the drivers for your camera then they will D/L and you can install them.
A netbook is a basic system a notebook and laptop are basically the same and a desktop is as said they are all computers but the netbooks have very little going for them other than the size and weight
i think your memory stick of your camera migth have virus try to scan it with anti virus. i think it is righ to install a driver and application that will recognize your picture format.
My Asus EEE netbook recognizes my camera just fine (I had a driver CD that came with the camera), but I usually don’t plug my camera into my netbook, instead I use a USB media card reader as it doesn’t use up the batteries in the camera that can be quite a lot when transferring photos.
