Sony Vaio W Netbook *Update: There’s a quick video from Stuff.tv after the break. Computer Shopper has released a review of the new Sony Vaio W netbook. Unfortunately, there isn’t too much excitement here. The Sony has the usual netbook specs (see full specs below) but did impress the reviewer with it’s high res. screen (1,366×768) which was also bright and very accurate color-wise. The keyboard was just adequate, with good key feel, but with an awkward layout, particularly noticeable with the right shift key. It also felt a bit cramped at just 9 inches wide, lacking a full inch in width compared with newer netbooks. Overall, they scored the netbook, which retails for $499 in the US, a 7.6. They liked the stylish design and screen, but felt the rest of the netbook was a bit uninspired. The Sony Vaio W should hit the UK around mid-August and is available to pre-order from Amazon for £430.00 now.
