What are the differences between a notebook computer and a netbook computer?

Hi, What reason is there to prefer the notebook computer over a netbook? I am a bit confused about which one to get. Thanks.

Notebooks are medium sized computers, not quite laptops, around 12 to 14" size. These are more powerful than netbooks, but are bigger slightly, yet light (usually)

Netbooks are very small and portable, from 7-11 inch. But these are only for web browsing and light tasks.

Laptops are larger than 15 inch (technically) although laptops is really the general name.

There are also desktop replacements which are very large (17"+)

It depends on your needs, portability only (netbooks) portability and power (notebooks) or more power (laptops)

a notebook is esentially a laptop meaning you can surf the web and save documents as well as play games. A netbook is bought to surf the web, they are fast on the web but have very little memory to store anything. in other words netbooks are not used to play games or business, just surfing the web.
If you jsut want something small to surf the web with then go for a netbook, if you want something you can surf the web with and do everything else on then get a notebook.

A netbook is made for internet. It’s small and handy, so people like businessmen can access internet without having to carry a big notebook around. A notebook has a better performance though. It really depends what you expect of your laptop. If you like playing games and music and just doing things not really related to the internet go for a notebook. If you are moving around a lot and all you want to do is go on your laptop and go into the internet to find out things, get a netbook.

A netbook is smaller, flimsier, easy to transport and light. It lacks a CD drive. Hard drives are optional

The are good for notetaking, surfing the web (use in airplanes?–or did they just make the seats more crowded), and email and Yahoo Answers.

If you have marathon sessions coding or writing then you need a notebook. The keyboard is small, so it is not really good for homework or gaming.

Laptops have a screen size of about 15" or more, and netbooks have a screen size of about 10". A netbook usually has 1 GB of memory and a smaller processor, whereas a laptop usually has at least 2 GB of memory and a bigger processor. I think another big difference is that a netbook does not or may not have a CD drive or DVD drive so new programs would have to come from the Internet and not a disc. The webpage may look a bit different on the smaller screen, but I am not sure. You may have to scroll around a bit more. I think netbooks usually have XP or Windows 7 or something like that so you can do lots of things on them. Hard drives in a netbook can be 40 GB or 60 GB or 80 GB – something like that.
