What is the difference between a Netbook and a Notebook computer?

They are both small, but what’s differentiates them from being called one or the other?

I just bought a Toshiba; I thought it was a NETbook, but the box says it’s a NOTEbook. What gives!? LOL!

The term "notebook" is thrown around a lot, but if its on the box then its probably not a netbook. For more clarification on the difference, check out my source.

Notebook is a laptop, netbook is one of those things with keys too small to get your fingers on, that runs 3 year old hardware…

notebooks normally have a DVD/CD drive, larger screens, larger keyboards, more powerful processors, shorter battery life.

Netbooks normally have no DVD/CD, smaller screens, smaller keyboards, less powerful processors, longer battery life.
