A netbook is simply a smaller sized notebook computer. Generally, a netbook is less powerful and lighter weight. They also do not typically include a built-in DVD/CD drive.

Also, one popular misconception is about netbooks needing a wireless carrier such as AT&T, Verizon, etc. to connect to the Internet. Netbooks work exactly the same as notebooks in terms of connecting to WiFi services. So, there are no specific "connection issues" related to netbooks.

Netbooks are usually defined as being 10.1 " screen size or less and no optical drive (CD/DVD ROM).
Laptops have larger screens than 10.1" and usually include an optical drive.
