What is the difference between netbook and notebook?

Can anyone explain the main difference between a netbook and a notebook? Are netbooks expensive? Can anyone suggest a good and affordable netbook? Affordable for me is below USD 1,200
At the moment I’m using an old 14.1" Toshiba (about 2 kg), it’s a kind of heavy to carry every day. I need a lighter one. Thanks

Netbooks don’t have cd/dvd drives so you will have to use an SD card to transfer files or attach a cheap external cd/dvd drive if you intend to play games or watch dvds – netbooks usually have a longer battery life (things like a cd/dvd drive drain a lot of power from a battery!) and are much lighter than traditional notebook pcs – nearer 1 to 1.5kg.

The best netbooks at the moment are
the Samsung NC10, the MSI Wind and the HP Mini 2140
- always check to see if you are getting a 6 cell battery rather than a 3 cell battery as then your netbook will last much longer – for example the Samsung runs for 5 to 6 hours or more, depending how you use it.

Notebook is your average everyday laptop.
Netbook are those super small PC’s with
SSD (static-no moving Parts) harddrives. (and can have
ridiculous capacity 8Gigabytes was the last one i seen!)
Screen size is SMALL 8 or 9 inches sometimes.

Netbooks are almost always under 399.00

Netbooks are the really small laptops, like the 6inch ones. Notebooks are just the big laptops about above 14inches. Netbooks can be a pain in the ars* to type with unless you have tiny hands, but are ALOT smaller, and lighter. Netbooks are cheaper than notebooks, but they arent as "powerful" as laptop cos they dont have as much space for components etc.

Netbook is a lightweight version of a notebook. Check out the Lenovo S10. I have it and it’s great. It has received great reviews as well.

Here are the specs:

* Intel ATOM Processor N270 Single Core ( 1.60GHz 533MHz 512KB )
* Genuine Windows XP Home Edition
* Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
* 1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz
* 10.2 " WSVGA AntiGlare TFT with integrated camera 1024×600
* Industry Standard Touchpad
* 160GB 5400
* 6 Cell Lithium-Ion
* Broadcom 11b/g Wi-Fi wireless
* One Year Warranty

And check out this deal:

Go to: http://www.lenovo.com/cpp
1. After cutting/pasting the above link, enter familyandfriends as password
2. Click the following: notebooks —> ideapad —> S series —>
3. add IdeaPad S10 High capacity battery.
4. Pick Black or White
5. Add to cart
6. Use coupon USENETSALE

Final Math: $351.12 – 15% = $298.45

A great netbook for under $300!

I hope I have helped.
